ZELLAMID® 2200 is a high-performance polyimide comparable to materials such as Vespel. It is engineered for applications requiring extremely low outgassing, long-term thermal stability, and reliable mechanical performance in vacuum and high-temperature environments.
The material does not melt and maintains its structural integrity at continuous operating temperatures above 300 °C. Even under prolonged thermal exposure and mechanical load, ZELLAMID® 2200 exhibits very low creep and high dimensional stability. Its inherent purity and low volatile content make it suitable for contamination-sensitive systems.
ZELLAMID® 2200 offers outstanding wear resistance, including dry-running capability, making it suitable for tribologically demanding components. Its resistance to fuels, lubricants, solvents, and other aggressive media further supports long service life in harsh process conditions. Electrical insulating properties remain stable across a broad temperature range, enabling reliable performance in high-temperature electrical and electronic applications.
Typical applications include aerospace components exposed to vacuum, semiconductor handling and process equipment, hot runner insulation caps, compressor vanes, seal rings, and precision components in analytical and high-temperature systems – wherever thermoplastics such as PEEK reach their thermal limits and contamination control is critical.
