ZELLAMID® 1700

PVDF / Polyvinylidene Fluoride

ZELLAMID® 1700 is based on polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) and belongs to the group of semi-crystalline high-performance thermoplastics. The material is defined by its outstanding chemical resistance, high purity and stable mechanical performance across a wide temperature range. It is particularly suited for applications where aggressive media, strict cleanliness requirements and simultaneous mechanical stress are present, offering a technically reliable and economically sound solution.

ZELLAMID® 1700 demonstrates excellent resistance to a broad spectrum of chemicals, including strong acids, alkalis and solvents, which makes it highly suitable for use in corrosive environments. Compared to other fluoropolymers, especially PTFE, it provides a significantly higher level of mechanical strength and rigidity, while maintaining good toughness. The material performs reliably at continuous service temperatures of up to approximately 140 °C and retains its properties even under fluctuating thermal conditions.

In addition, ZELLAMID® 1700 is characterized by its very high purity and low extractable levels, which is critical in industries such as semiconductor manufacturing, pharmaceuticals and food processing. Its low water absorption ensures excellent dimensional stability, even in humid or wet environments. The material also offers strong resistance to UV radiation and weathering, making it suitable for long-term outdoor applications. Furthermore, it provides consistent electrical insulation properties, even under challenging environmental conditions.

ZELLAMID® 1700 is widely used in the chemical industry for components such as pump housings, valve seats, sealing elements and piping systems, where long-term resistance to aggressive media is essential. In semiconductor manufacturing, it is applied in high-purity environments, particularly in wet processing systems and chemical handling components. In the food and pharmaceutical sectors, it is used for media-contact parts that require both chemical resistance and strict hygiene standards.
