ZELLAMID® 202 is a tough PA 6 with high impact and abrasion resistance.
Compared to bronze, aluminum, and other non-ferrous metals, the material offers significantly lower weight while maintaining high mechanical strength, resulting in attractive cost and handling advantages. Its specific gravity is 1.15 g/cm³ compared to 8.8 g/cm³ for bronze.
ZELLAMID® 202 reduces wear on metal counterfaces and allows for reduced lubrication in many applications. In humid environments, water absorption can reach up to 8%, which increases impact and fatigue strength but may affect dimensional accuracy. Mechanical, electrical, and dimensional properties vary with ambient humidity.
ZELLAMID® 202 is food-approved according to BfR and FDA and is suitable for highly loaded functional parts with sliding requirements and damping properties.
