PPS GF40 / Polyphenylene sulfide
ZELLAMID® 1900 GF40 is based on polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) reinforced with 40% glass fibre. The material belongs to the group of semi-crystalline high-performance thermoplastics and is designed for applications requiring high stiffness, dimensional stability, chemical resistance and reliable performance at elevated temperatures.
The glass fibre reinforcement significantly increases strength, rigidity and creep resistance compared with unfilled PPS. At the same time, the material maintains low moisture absorption and good dimensional stability, even under humid or chemically exposed operating conditions.
ZELLAMID® 1900 GF40 offers very good resistance to many oils, fuels, solvents, acids and alkalis. It is therefore suitable for mechanically loaded components in chemically demanding environments, as well as for electrical and electronic applications requiring good insulation properties.
Typical applications include pump and valve components, insulating parts, housings, connectors, guide elements, sensor components and precision parts exposed to heat, chemicals or mechanical load.
